Blot the coffee spill with a clean, white cloth to absorb all of the liquid you can soak up. It's very important to get as much of the coffee soaked up as you can.
Then, mix a teaspoon of clear, mild liquid dishwashing detergent with one cup of warm water.
Sponge the coffee spill with the detergent solution then blot with another clean, white cloth again. Make sure you continually rinse the sponge so that all of the coffee comes out of it.
After that is done, mix 1/3 cup white vinegar with 2/3 cup warm water. Sponge the coffee spill area with the vinegar solution then blot again with a clean, white cloth.
Now sponge the area again with clean, warm water to rinse. Blot one more time with a clean, white cloth.
